Matthew 6:19 “Don’t store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves don’t break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Blessings family,
The other day I saw an image and heard a comment that struck me. The image was of several yachts that had been crushed together. And the question was: How much did the owners have to work to obtain this? I thought about it. The range of time varies depending on the person’s financial situation, but I would guess that most worked a lot to have a yacht. But in one moment it was all taken from them. I’ve been guilty countless times of buying something for a moment of happiness, shortly after realizing that this is all it was capable of providing, a moment of happiness. It is incapable of providing Joy. The verse above speaks of this. Store your treasure in Heaven, this is where you will find Joy. Joy can only be found in a true relationship with Jesus. His joy does not depend on circumstances, but endures. I am not saying that working hard and buying something is wrong, but when we fail to see that those things can be taken at a moment’s notice, that is when we have to reflect and ask. Where am I storing my treasures?
Please continue to pray for everyone affected by the storm and everyone that is going out West to help.
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
