Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Good evening family,
Earlier this week, I was doing some cleaning in my backyard when I felt something painful poke the bottom of my foot. I was wearing sandals and thought it could have been a tiny rock, so I shook my sandal, and put my foot down, but I felt the piercing pain again. This time, I stopped to look carefully. I didn’t see anything, so I turned my sandal around and found the culprit. I had stepped on a tiny broken branch from a bougainvillea tree, and the thorn on the branch had pierced through the bottom of my thick sandal into my foot, not puncturing it but causing pain.
It made me think of the pain you may be feeling this Christmas season. The message I’ve received this season as I’ve prayed is “giving.” But it’s not the giving you may be thinking about. I’m talking about giving away something that is causing you pain: loneliness, sadness, doubts, fears, addictions, unforgiveness, painful relationships, lost family members, things that you’ve been trying for years to change unsuccessfully. I’m talking about packaging those things and giving them to Jesus. Kind of like a gift exchange; you give Him your pain and burdens and He in turn gives you a gift that changes everything–peace that suprasses ALL understanding.
I am grateful for strong tape, as I will be trying to seal a few things into a box that seems like it will burst. But I know He will take it all.
This Christmas, think about the gift of Jesus. Receive Him and give Him all those things that are beyond your control.
May you accept The Gift that can change everything.
Merry Christmas!!
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
