Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Blessings everyone,
This past weekend, my family and I were able to go to the Beyond Van Gogh Miami exhibit. The first part of the exhibit was a little slow, but it was still fascinating. I had an opportunity to read that Vincent Van Gogh’s father was a preacher and Vincent himself tried to be a preacher. As I read about him and many of his writings, I noticed that in some quotes he would make direct or indirect references about God.
One of his quotes said this: “I’d like to walk with you there to find out whether we look at things the same way.” I am not sure what was going on in his life when he wrote this, but for me this was a profound statement. Do we have that type of love to walk with someone to see how they see things and why? Are we willing to go to the hard places, whether we agree with them or not, and to show love like His?
Ultimately, Van Gogh would commit suicide and I wonder if someone ever walked with him to see if they saw things in the same way. And if they did walk with him, were they able to remind him how precious he was in God’s eyes.
Praying we would all have the wisdom, patience and courage to walk with that someone who may be seeking something more.
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
