James 5:13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
Last week several things happened that led me to inquire about buying a new car. A salesperson reached out to me and something odd happened… Instead of trying to sell me a car, this person told me it was not the best time to purchase a car. A salesperson told me this! I thanked him for his honesty and shared that I am a man of faith and pray for God to open or close doors. He knows what is best. I told him that I did not know if he had faith or not, but God used him to speak to me and I was grateful.
Then the salesman shared with me that he was going through a lot and we had a chance to speak about Jesus. I shared that I have never owned the type of car he sells, I’ve never driven that kind of car, and I was actually calling for a friend initially, not for me. God ordained all of that for him to know that He hears his prayers. The salesman told me he had been on his way to buy some beers to drown out the pain but was moved by what I shared with him and the desire left him.
I’ve found so many times in my life that I thought I was going through something or headed in a certain direction because it was about me only to then realize… it had nothing to do with me or with my situation, but someone else’s. He, God, needed me to travel down a path so He could use me to reach one of His children. And through this He allowed me and all of you to witness His hand moving.
So, where are you today? Do you think you shouldn’t be there? Maybe He has you there because He is going to use you in a mighty way to bless someone who SO desperately needs to hear from God. Maybe that person is even you…
