James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

This past Saturday we heard a powerful message from Errol. Throughout school he suffered from severe stuttering. The kids at the school would do horrible things and blame them on him because he was unable to speak to defend himself. He hated life and did not want to go on anymore, until he had a turning point where God revealed something important to him.

Let me turn a corner. Today, I came to our location to get some work done and before I did anything, I opened my Bible and read 1 Kings chapters 18-19, the story of Elijah challenging the prophets of the false gods. Elijah was incredibly victorious in this challenge because of his confidence in God. Once word got out what he had done, one woman threatened to kill him and it derailed him to the point that he fled and wanted to die. It is beyond imagination how he could have been so strong and moments later so weak. As I was sitting here, looking around at our place, having witnessed all He has done through this ministry, I find myself sometimes doubting as well. Maybe not to the point of Elijah, but doubting nonetheless.

Saturday’s message was ultimately a testimony of surrender. We can only find true Hope (Jesus) when we surrender everything that we are holding on to, the things we are not allowing Jesus to take. As I sit here, reflecting, praying, and writing, I am slowly surrendering all my doubts to Him.

I pray this week that Jesus would reveal what it is you need to surrender. May He give you the strength to surrender it to Him so that you may rest in His neverending Hope.

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
