1 Peter 5:8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

Have you ever witnessed large gray clouds moving in, wind picking up, lightning and thunder? If you lived just about anywhere, especially here in Florida, you know that when this happens you are in the midst of a storm. It is no surprise to you. The moment you see the clouds converging, you know what’s coming. But how do you handle being in the storm? Last night, I had many strange dreams, but in one of them, I was a few blocks from our ministry location and saw a storm coming. I was driving a huge SUV and saw the strong wind, like a mini tornado. It surrounded my SUV and picked it up off the ground, spinning it and then it dropped me back to the ground before continuing. The amazing thing was that as this was happening, I had so much peace. I knew I was going to be fine even though the scene was chaotic, I was Covered.

Let me turn a corner, our lives at times can be filled with storms, some even consume us, but did you know that Jesus has given so much authority in our lives through Him? It’s an authority to speak into the storms of our lives and one that is often unused. Mark 4:39 “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” These are powerful questions from Jesus, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” When the tactics of the enemy begin to move toward you, the dark clouds begin to form, begin to pray. Do not allow the winds to pick up. Do not allow the thunder to start. Stop it before it takes root and if you are in the midst of a storm right now, have faith. Romans 10:17 So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.

Praying this week that you would put on the full armor of God the moment you open your eyes. Say, “God, cover me today” and may you have the faith to know that His armor is impenetrable.

**Also: please pray for the MDPD police Director Freddy Ramirez. He has suffered a “critical injury.” There are speculations as to what has happened, but regardless of what it is, please pray for him, his family and our MDPD family.

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
