2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Have you ever driven in a parking garage, searching for a spot? The scenario might look something like this: You drive in and see a spot, but it’s too far from the elevator, so you keep driving. You find another spot, but it’s too tight. You end up driving all the way to the roof, only to realize it is way too hot. As you drive down, the lot is fuller than before and you decide maybe it’s not the right time to be there. So you leave.
In keeping with this theme, has seeking Jesus looked like that for someone you know, or maybe for you? I would love to follow Jesus, but He would make me go further than I want to go. I would follow Jesus, but that would bring a lot of uncomfortable pressure. I would follow Jesus, but the heat of it all is too much to bear. So…I will wait to follow Jesus, when the time is right. I know a few people like this. No matter how much I’ve told them about Jesus, they are just blind to who He is and who He could be in their life. If only they would slow down to receive it.
If this is you, I imagine Jesus lovingly taking care of your spot, hoping one day you would park there. Park and know that is your spot for eternity. Praying this week that you would always know that while we are here, Jesus has a spot reserved for you. It is spotless and blameless, if you are willing to accept it from Him.
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
