Isaiah 9:2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; a light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness.
Last week my son got braces. At first he was fine, but that night the pain became so intense it woke him up. Even with the medication we gave him the pain was intense, but he was able to cope because he knew this would pass in a few days.
But what happens when our pain lasts longer or there is no solution in sight?
I remember when I went through my health issues. I didn’t know how long I would be in that moment or if I would be able to get through. It weighed on me and even though I had Jesus, The Light, in my heart, I found myself walking towards the darkness of depression. Kind of like some close friends who are struggling with health issues and they struggle with moments of anxiety and fear. Having constant pain, whether it is physical, emotional or spiritual, might lead you to a path of worldly temporary “peace” (IE: Alcohol, pornogrpahy, adultery, drugs etc.) but those things will not bring His peace. We need Jesus’ light to pull us out of the darkness, and the verse above is a great reminder of this. We walked in darkness but now walk in Light–His light. If you are walking in pain, please do not walk alone. There are many here who earnestly seek people to pray for and walk with, including me.
Father, you know everything about us. Your Word says you knit us in our mother’s womb. You know our strengths and our weaknesses and I ask that you please meet us where we are. In the hills or the valleys, we cannot do this without You. Send your angels to pick us up and send Your healing upon our lives.
I thank You Father for what You have already done in our lives.
I pray all this in Jesus’ name.
