Matthew 18:12 What do you think? If someone has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, won’t he leave the ninety-nine on the hillside and go and search for the stray?
Good morning family,
Saturday night, as we were getting ready for our Zoom meeting, I was able to see that one person was waiting for the meeting to start. We never know how many people will show up, but I thought, what if only one person showed up? Would it be worth it? Many churches, ministries and even our circle of influence where God placed us has become smaller. Is it still worth it? The answer is: Absolutely.
Let me share a story: For many years, I had been praying that the FCPO would grow exponentially. My thought was that the larger it grew, the more people we could reach for Jesus. If you have been to our monthly meetings, our numbers range from 10-50. One month, we had about 120 people. I was so moved by what God had done. I began to tear up. After that moment, though, I realized I could not shepherd so many, that the larger the ministry, the less intimate it became. Jesus had the twelve, and the twelve had their own flock. So, I began to pray for God to give me less.
If your church body is less, if your ministry numbers are less, if you don’t feel that you have been able to mentor as many people as you used to, don’t despair. Maybe He needs you to invest more time into one person’s life. Don’t feel overwhelmed that you are not doing enough. We don’t serve a limited God, but a limitless One. This message is as much for me as it is possibly is for you.
So, yes!! It is SO worth it, even if it is only for one.
Praying that you find the one God has appointed you to.
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
