Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Blessed morning family,

Have you ever had a time in your life when you said “I should have…” or “I should not have…”? This past weekend I had some of those moments with my family, and what I realized again is that I cannot change the past. I can only learn from it.

I read the verse above yesterday, and the part that says “you will be my witness” spoke to me. How can I be a witness for Jesus if I am stuck in the past? There are times when I get stuck in “I should not have” mode and I stay there for a little bit, long enough for the guilt or embarrassment to settle in. In those moments, I have to remind myself that Jesus forgave my transgressions and if I had not received Him, I would be stuck there in the past indefinitely, feeling guilty. There, I would not have been able to receive the power of the Holy Spirit and thus, I would be unable to be a true witness for Jesus.

Do you have any of those “I should have” or “I should not have” moments? We all do. We cannot change the past, but through Jesus, you are forgiven! It is a gift freely given, if you are willing to accept. And when we accept Him, we can then bear witness to His glory “to the ends of the earth.”

Have a blessed week in The Lord!

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
