Judges 6:39 Gideon then said to God, “Don’t be angry with me; let me speak one more time. Please allow me to make one more test with the fleece. Let it remain dry, and the dew be all over the ground.” 40 That night God did as Gideon requested: only the fleece was dry, and dew was all over the ground.
A couple of weeks ago, I had an important meeting at my department about something God had placed on my and Mario Rojo’s hearts a while back. As I was driving into work that day, I was praying about the meeting and I thought about reaching out to a few people to ask for prayers. I was quickly reminded that God placed this on my heart and I didn’t need to reach out to anyone. A moment later, I saw a tag next to me that read: “AMEN.” I laughed and thanked God for His reminder and patience. As I kept driving in, I saw another car in front of me that had a Fish symbol with a cross on it. I thanked God again and asked Him to please give me a third sign. A Trinity sign. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. As I kept driving in, I realized that I was running a little late and totally forgot about the third sign. I arrived at the station and we had a meeting that was better than my greatest imagination. After the meeting, Mario and I went down the elevator and as we walked out, I saw a van in my parking garage (picture below) that said: Trinity insulation. What is unique about this is that this van has never been in our station before.
I often think about how patient God is with us, with me. I often fail to fully trust in God, but in His never ending patience with me, He answered my request.
I wanted to encourage you today that God does listen to us, but He doesn’t always answer our prayers the way we think is best, but the way He knows is best. Sometimes we understand it and sometimes, we cannot.
Praying that we could all get to a place where we would trust God enough to know that whatever it is, He knows what is best.
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
