Colossians 2:7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Happy early Thanksgiving everyone,
In this season, when we are reminded to be thankful, so many things come to mind immediately: Jesus, my family and all of you. This season has been a heavy one for so many, and I am humbled and thankful for all of the prayers and messages of support and for allowing me once again to see Jesus through so many of you. I pray all of you have an abundantly blessed Thanksgiving, even in the midst of any chaos you may be facing.
I also wanted to share something we had been working on: our first ever Police-Giving Thanksgiving. We joined with two other amazing ministries, The Closet of Living Hope and The Chief Press Foundation, to do this outreach, and we joined forces with The Community Police Relations Foundation who donated the 100 Turkeys and The Greater Miami Jewish Foundation who donated all of the sides. We then reached out to several police agencies and had ten agencies send almost 30 officers to bless the community in a special way. I’ll let you watch the video on our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DRcgrQvEXct/?igsh=aTk4eThwOWxrZWo0. If you do not have social media, you should still be able to click on it and view, or you can copy the link and paste it into your browser.
And, before I let you go:
Next Tuesday is Giving Tuesday. If you feel led to help support our ministry, you can donate here: https://give.tithe.ly/?formId=5b6b6886-fcbd-43b9-972f-30dc32ab9f02. All donations are tax deductible. If you feel led to make a one time donation or if you feel led to donate monthly, any amount would bless us and help us keep the mission going.
Where does the money go?
- To pay the monthly rent; we not only have our monthly meeting space but an office we use as a 24/7 safe space for any first responder that needs to talk
- Food, sodas, utensils, etc., for our monthly meetings
- Outreaches, such as the Police-Giving shown in the video above, beach baptisms, prayer with a cop, etc.
- Blessing families of fallen first responders or first responders in need
Everyone who helps is a volunteer and none of us earn a penny. In fact, we as the board also faithfully give to keep this ministry moving.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! And remember to set your scales back ten pounds before you go to sleep. : )
God bless you always.
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
