Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

The other weekend a good friend, Pastor Anthony, shared a message about “Revival.” In his message he asked a question: If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? The caveat to this is to remove your attendance to Sunday service.

Hold onto that question and let me share a story with you. A few years ago, I had my gallbladder removed. After the surgery, I had a difficult time waking up from the anesthesia, so the doctor decided to keep me overnight. I remember waking up for moments and falling back asleep. At some point, a woman took me from the recovery room to my room. As she was taking me, I woke up to her sharing a burden on her heart. I sadly don’t remember her, but I remember telling her that God loves her so much and He only wants what is the best for her. If she does not have peace, then that is not what Jesus wants for her. I then heard her ask my wife, “Is he always like this or is it the anesthesia?” My wife said, “No, that is who he is.” I then fell asleep again and woke up hours later according to my wife.

Why did I share this story? Because for many years, although I was a Christian, if I would have been on trial for being a Christian, I would have been found Not Guilty. I had nothing to show to prove otherwise. They wouldn’t have had enough to even arrest me. The amazing part of this is that I didn’t change because of my doing, I changed because of Jesus’ doing.

So, if you were arrested today for being a Christian, would you be found Guilty or Not Guilty?

Let us pray: Father, help us to trust in You more. Help us not to be lukewarm, and help us to know that those people we run into are not by coincidence, but they were ordained by You. Gives us Your words to share Your Hope, Your Love and Your grace.

In Jesus’ name, we pray!

Amen.

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
