Let me start off by saying I am okay. Last week, I had chest pains and they weren’t going away. I went to one of our fire stations to get checked out, and they said I should go to the hospital to have blood drawn, so I did and thank God, I did not have a heart attack, which I figured. However, the doctor told me to take a few days off and rest. I took the next day off from work and as I was walking down my stairs, my foot slipped and I fell, landing on my right side. I didn’t break anything, just got a little banged up… the following day I woke up tired and I felt the heaviness of it all.
My uncle, who is a pastor, called me because he heard about my fall. He reminded me that I need to keep my eyes on God and not on the circumstances in front of me. This is something I say quite often, but what is easy to share, is not always easy to receive when you are in it. I also remembered hearing a pastor speak once saying that when we feel oppressed it is because God is about to do something awesome in your life.
And that was the case. That afternoon God began to open amazing doors with the prayer tent (I will share more about this soon), conversations about Jesus opened up, and at the end of the night, a great friend called me and told me that he wanted to nominate me for a volunteer leadership role at the church. That conversation left me in tears because I was blessed to witness God’s hand moving once again.
If you are feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, hold on to His word. Lean into Him for strength. Raise your head high and look to Him and not your circumstances because God is going to do something awesome in your life.
