I hope you are enjoying today with your family and friends. Familysearch.org describes the meaning of Labor day as:

“Labor Day is a day to celebrate workers. But what does that mean? The people who suggested this holiday, advocated for it, and signed it into law probably weren’t as concerned with summer vacations ending or kids going back to school. Instead, they were looking for an opportunity to celebrate working-class Americans—men and women who spent long days in factories, train yards, mines, and mills, earning a living for their families. Labor Day was intended as a day of rest and relaxation for people who hardly ever had time for either.”

As described above, this holiday was for those who work “long days.” We spend so much of our life at work and using that time of labor to share the hope we have in Jesus can change lives for eternity. This is our mission field. I pray that today as many of us are hopefully off, that we would reflect on what we desire to labor the most for. We do the job that God has called us to as if working for The Lord, and use that time to show the love of Christ to those we work with.

Have a blessed week!

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
