“There is a need for volunteers and to get the word out in ft. Lauderdale about Samaritan’s Purse Relief efforts. The flood affected more people than I thought. There was no news coverage. This is because there were no deaths. But nearly 2,000 homes were flooded with 2-4ft of water and most with no flood insurance. People are devastated and there is help there for free through Samaritan’s Purse and any of our churches can help by sending volunteer teams. Pass the word.”

Good evening,

I want to thank you all for coming to the Pastor’s Meeting today! I was very encouraged to see you there to hear what the Lord is doing and how you can be engaged. What a testimony to those who are personally affected by the storm as well, knowing pastors both within and outside the affected area care for those who are in such need.

Regarding the immediate opportunity in Fort Lauderdale, I have attached the graphic that we showed on the screen during the lunch meeting. On that graphic is the contact information for both homeowners who need assistance and volunteers wanting to serve. I also have attached the flyer that we made available in paper form at the meeting. We would greatly appreciate you sharing both of these forms of information widely. Volunteers also can sign up to serve on our website. If you go to our main Samaritan’s Purse website, you also can see an article, pictures and a video highlighting the work in Fort Lauderdale. If you have any questions about this specific response, I have copied our Program Manager Leroy Wentz so that you can reach out to him directly with any questions or for more information.

As I mentioned to you, I also wanted to send you this email so that you can have my personal information. Please feel free to reach out to me with any question regarding how your church can be engaged beyond this response. If you are interested, I would love to share with you about how to continue to engage with Samaritan’s Purse U.S. Disaster Relief ministry around the country. You also can find out more information by going to our website www.spvolunteer.org. I also would encourage you to sign up for our Text Alert Program. By providing us your cell phone number, we will be able to notify you via text whenever Samaritan’s Purse sets up a new disaster response.

Again, thank you very much! I know your time is precious. So, thank you for choosing to join us for the lunch today. I hope it was not only beneficial but encouraging for you in your area of ministry.

Blessings,

Jeremy Zerkle
