Psalm 121:8 – The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Good morning family,

Have you ever been in a rush, only to get caught at every red light and behind the Guinness Books of World Records’ slowest driver….?

Early Friday morning as we rushed into the car to drop my son off at school for a band competition he had in Orlando, the low pressure tire light turned on. The plan was to follow the bus up to Orlando. As the bus left, I decided to have the tire checked to make sure we didn’t have a screw in the tire. I found a tire center close by and they checked the tire. Sure enough, there was a screw in it. Well, thank God He placed it on my heart to check. We were the first ones there and they drove the car onto the lift. A short time later the worker says to me: “We have a problem, bigger than your screw.” Sadly, almost every time I go to a mechanic shop they seem to find “a bigger problem,” so I was a bit skeptical. Still, I walked out with him and he showed me that the rear tires had areas where the metal wire was exposed, and in one section the tire appeared to be coming apart. The shocking thing is that the tires were checked a few weeks earlier and we were told we had some time left before we had to replace them.

We had no choice but to replace them. As you can imagine, this delayed us tremendously and the frustration began to set in. But I took a step back and thanked God, instead. We have been to Orlando a thousand times and this has never happened before. My wife drove the car the night before and the light had not come on. If we would have just put air in the tire, the tire may have ruptured on the way up. God prevented us from having a possible tragedy.

How many times have you been late somewhere? Stuck at a train crossing or in a traffic accident? Have you ever thanked God for this? Maybe He was preventing you from witnessing or being part of a horrible situation.
Praying that we would always have the patience to see God’s hand at work, even in those moments of frustration.

Have a blessed weekend everyone!

Humbled to serve,
Jorge
