The other day I had a video come up a few times on my instagram feed. It was of a young girl, maybe 2 years old, who had never seen clearly before and who was given a pair of glasses. She resisted wearing them at first, but when she finally had them on, she was in awe at being able to see clearly for the first time. Her reaction was priceless and one that I think many of us may have had when we were finally able to see Jesus in our life.
Just like this little girl, sometimes we need to put on (spiritual) glasses to see clearly, to remind ourselves how precious a gift Jesus is to each and every one of us–a gift that is impossible to earn and any attempts to gain it on our own void it because it is no longer a gift.
As our sister in Christ Omy said, “Sometimes we have to adjust our lenses as we get older and mature in His word.”
May we have time before Christmas to clearly see how AWESOME the gift of Jesus is.
