My son was on Spring Break vacation last week and on Friday, since my wife had to work, we spent the day together. He had been wanting to go to Dave and Buster’s, so we spent a few hours laughing and competing in various games. He says he “smoked” me, but obviously I “smoked” him. LOL! Afterward, we went and had lunch together. Having that time together meant so much to me. It was special, almost like Father’s Day.
How often do we wait for a holiday to celebrate a moment like Father’ Day, Mother’ Day, a birthday, Christmas, Easter, etc.? Why do we wait? Proverbs 27:1 tells us, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
My challenge for all of us is to make these annual holidays more of our everyday life. Do not wait for a holiday to celebrate with someone you love. Our tomorrows are not promised, so enjoy what today has to offer.
Praying your week may be filled with a joy that can only come from Jesus.
