Galatians:5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh ; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Blessing family,

I am sorry for this longer than usual email, but I’ve been convicted to share this.

A couple of months ago, I purchased a desk for my home office. The reviews were great, but the one negative was the difficulty to build it. I decided not to add that stress to my life and hired a company to build it. Well, that ended up being a disaster. Then, I reached out to a handyman and that sadly didn’t work out well either. Adding to my frustration was the fact that the desk was poorly made. Every time I walked by my office, I saw the hundreds of pieces that needed to be put together and I would feel overwhelmed. After weeks of back and forth, this past Saturday, I was determined to finish this desk. I began this adventure with incredible momentum, but it quickly diminished. As I was speaking to my mom about this challenge, she asked if I had reached out to anyone for help and she reminded me of a friend. I decided to text him. Though he was busy, he offered to help. He also reminded me to pray and ask God for wisdom to figure it out. He was so right! I began to pray and things began to fall into place, but then I hit another wall. When my friend came by, we worked on it together and we were able to get through the most challenging parts before he had to leave.

Let me turn a corner. 2020 has been so challenging. I have spoken to many men and women of faith who are struggling, who feel defeated, much like I felt when trying to build my desk. I felt overwhelmed and unable to get past this challenge. But a friend, a brother in Christ helped me get past the most difficult part. He didn’t lead me to the end, but just far enough where I was able to keep going and finish on my own. It reminded me of an important lesson: When you are struggling, reach out to someone you trust. Don’t do it alone.

We all have good and bad days. When you are in the hills, reach out to all those that come to your heart. Maybe it is your day to help someone get back on track. When you are in the valleys, remember those who can and will be there for you, and who can help you get through the storm.

Remember to serve one another humbly in love. God is able, but He also has His children being His hands and feet for a reason.

Praying for healing and strength this week.

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
