Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Good morning family,
The other day when I walked into my unit, I heard a TV show playing. As I stopped to look at it, I saw three women sitting in lounge chairs arguing. One of them then got up from her seat and knelt down on the floor and began to pray for one of the women, but not the way you are thinking. She starting saying, and I am paraphrasing: “Oh Lord, can you teach her to shut her mouth and to stop throwing herself at every man. Teach her to be quiet because she is driving me crazy.” The woman she was praying for was in shock. As the first woman kept praying, the third woman got up and knelt down next to her and began saying: “Oh yes, Jesus! Can I get an Amen!” They were mocking the sacredness of prayer, the intimate conversation we have with Our Father. I don’t know about you, but this angered me.
As I processed this, though, I felt God telling me: “You did this also.” What?! It took me a moment to understand what He was telling me, that although I haven’t prayed in that manner, my past actions had mocked God just as much. As a sinner, I had mocked God with my actions and at times with my words…
WOW. Talk about being humbled. Then He reminded me of the this verse: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” It is absolutely incredible how much He loves us.
I thought about these women and wondered what would I say to them if I was present when this happened. I know my initial reaction would not have been Christ like, but I now know that I would tell them that Jesus loves them. He knew they were going to mock Him like this, but He still died for them because He loves them that much.
Sometimes, in those moments of attacks, we need to take a moment to remember Jesus and then speak His love into them.
May each of you have the strength and a moment to share His love with someone.
Blessed by serving,
Jorge
Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, pay attention to my words; listen closely to my sayings. Don’t lose sight of them; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and health to one’s whole body.
