1 John 2:6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.

Blessed morning family,

A couple of weeks ago, I saw an old friend. We only had a brief moment to catch up as he was in between meetings. In this short time, he shared some very heavy things with me and then he asked me what was going on in my life. I told him about struggling to leave my job to do more in ministry.

He looked at me and said, “What happened to you?!” He said, “I know of so many people that say they love God, but I watch them and they don’t live a life honoring God, but you…..I’ve known you for years and I’ve seen how God has changed your life. I see it! I read the Bible and I seek God, but I want that in my life.” I was taken back by his words and the passion with which he told me this.

I’ve had so many thoughts racing through my mind about what he shared with me. The one that stood out is when he said, “I’ve seen how God has changed your life.” There are many of you here that have known me for a long time. Some maybe knew me when I could make a sailor blush. There were many times in my life that I didn’t even have a thought about speaking to others about Jesus–for many reasons, but mostly because my life did not reflect who He is. But He changed me. It was not of my doing, but of His. The conversation with my friend reminded me that we need to take a daily inventory of who we are representing: the world or Jesus. No one can be perfect, I know this all too well, but we cannot bring our conversations, jokes, videos, texts, etc. to a place that does not honor Jesus, to a place where none of us should be.

Please lift my friend up in prayer. God knows who he is.

May each of you have a blessed week.

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
