1 Corinthians 12:12-13 (One Body with Many Members)
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

Good morning family,

Today marks the 21st year of 9/11. It is hard to believe it has been that long. Many remember exactly where they were when the attacks came. I was home sleeping–I had worked a late shift–when the calls began to come in and I watched on TV as things unfolded. It was complete chaos. Shortly after that, I was called into work. We worked many hours until things were somewhat back in control. I experienced so many things, but one that stood out is how we as Americans came together. It didn’t matter what your background was. We came together as one. I had never experienced a time where I felt prouder to be as one.

Sadly, today this is not the case. It has actually moved so far apart that I can’t see the beginning or the end. But as believers, through this tragedy, many of us had a glimpse of what One Body in Christ looks like. And this can only happen if we love like Jesus loves us. I stand in the mirror saying this to all of you because I know I am flawed, but I am blessed to have seen a goal I can work towards. As the scripture says above, you are all “Many Members.”

Praying that through His strength we could come together once again.

Humbled to serve,

Jorge
