Good morning family,
As many of you may know, Officer Andrew Gomez from the Miami-Dade Police Department passed away late on March 16th. The following morning, on St. Patrick’s Day, I was scheduled to work road patrol. During roll call, I shared the news with our officers and we had a moment of silence and prayer to honor him as well as his family and extended family. Every officer bowed their heads to honor Andrew and prayed. It was so encouraging for me to witness this. In this sad moment, I was also able to share something encouraging, that miracles still do happen. On this same day, five years earlier, our FCPO brother, Carlos Rosario, was struck by a vehicle on the 836. Doctors continually shared the limits Carlos would have, but Our Father has proven all of them wrong. Most of you know the blessing Carlos has been to those around him, including me. Each and every day we will live difficult moments. Sometimes, these moments roll one into another becoming extended periods of challenges, but miracles still do happen. Hold on to the miracles you’ve seen and heard. In the pain of Andrew’s loss, I was able to witness God’s hand move through the actions of many. In Carlos’ healing, I was able to witness God’s mercy.
