“This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.” ~ Psalm 118:24
Be blessed today!
The above verse was written by a Psalmist during times of tribulations. I know many of you have faced hard times in the past, and some of you might be facing them right now. I want to challenge you today and I know you might not be up for any challenges, but as you know by now, I do what God has asked me to do.
If you can, I want you to go outside. Allow the heat of the sun to touch you for a moment. Take a deep deep breath. Give God thanks, no matter what is going on in your life and go back in.
This past weekend, my wife and I were at Publix, and as we made our way around the store, I saw from afar a woman in an electric wheelchair drive up to the produce section. She began to reach for an item, but was unable to grab it. I then saw her try to stand and she couldn’t. She then tried to reach again, and gave up. I approached her and asked if I could help her. She said: yes, please. I gave her the two items she was unable to grab. She was very grateful. As I began to walk away, I said to her: God Bless you. She replied, God bless you too.
The challenge above was a reminder that although we have many challenges in our lives, we also have many blessings. It’s a blessing to feel pain; it means we are still here to enjoy another day. It is a blessing to do things on our own; it means we still have the strength to be self-sufficient and it is a blessing to be a blessing for others, because we get to witness God’s hand working through us.
So, I am praying that today, you may be able to rejoice and give thanks in whatever circumstance you’re in knowing today is the day that The Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
Humbled to serve,
Jorge
