Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

Blessings everyone,

Yesterday, I went to Home Depot to buy a few items and while I was there, I saw a mom with her young son. They were looking at BBQs and this reminded me so much of my mom. As many of you know, my dad was not very present in my life and often, my mom had to play not only the role of a mother, but also of a father. Reflecting back, it must have been so hard not only to mange being a divorced mother raising two (sometimes) knucklehead boys, but also trying to fill the gap of a missing dad. Seeing this mother looking at BBQs the day before Mother’s Day reminded me of my childhood and how blessed I am to have a mother who loves us so much and sacrificed so much for us.

So, I want to thank all of the moms out there–whether you have children or not. I know many women who do not have biological children, but who have been incredible loving “moms” for many.

And to my mom: Thank you for being so patient and loving, and for being an incredible example of Christ for me in our highs and lows. I love you!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Jorge
