Hebrews 12:2 “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith,”
Good morning family,
Today’s devotional is more of a reflection than an inspirational story. Have you ever written an email or a story and when you read it, you realize that many words need to be changed, added, or removed, or that the entire thing just needs to be rewritten? This has happened to me countless times.
I’ve realized that when I write these devotionals, if it is too much of me (my words) and not what God wants me to write about, it is filled with errors. I often have to stop and ask Him to please reveal to me what He wants me to share with all of you.
In this process, I have found that our lives are much like this. We write our stories the way we feel they need to be written. We take paths we feel we need to take, but if we would compare our story and His story of us, they are often quite different. What does that mean? We often have things in our lives, like unforgiveness, addiction, greed, or _ (fill in the blank) that prevents us from the story God wants for our lives.
Many of you know the pain I lived with the absence of my dad. But it wasn’t until I truly forgave him that my story began to take the shape that God intended for me to have. And the only way I was able to do this was through Jesus. It’s not easy… but you have to surrender those things in your life that prevent Jesus from truly being Your Author.
I am praying today that you can reflect on your life story and make the changes with His strength so YOUR true and blessed story can be told.
Have a super blessed week everyone!
Jorge
